VINTAGE BRANDT JUNIOR AUTOMATIC CASHIER

Description

Up for sale is a Brandt Junior Automatic Cashier. This unit measures approximately 9" by 9 1/4" and is 15" tall. It is made of very solid steel with aluminum plates and weighs close to 25 pounds before boxing and packaging. The unit shows overall wear from use and has numerous dings and rub marks on the outer shell. It shows some  light corrosion in spots from age, but it just adds to the aged look of the machine. There are some screws missing from various spots, especially the back, but
the whole unit is solid and holds together even with the missing screws. It is supposed to have a change slide on the side that allows the money to slide down to the operator, this is missing. It also looks like there is a plate missing from the opposite side of the the change return, It can be seen in the pictures. There is an access hole with 4 screw holes around it.
This unit is designed to make change for certain transactions without the operator having to count it out. The blue and red keys give the exact amount listed. 1 cent through 5 cents for the blue and 5, 25, 50 cents and for the red. The blue 1 and 5 keys are missing and the 2 key is in the place where the 5 should go. The four black top keys have 2 numbers on them and give change for 25 cents or 75 cents. The white keys give change back for 50 cents and the lower black keys give change back if a dollar is given. The black 50, 75, 80 and 85 cent keys are missing. There is a white 3 key on the 85 cent spot.  The keys are made of Bakelite and there is wear and nicks on many of them. They are dirty, but I cleaned a couple and the dirt comes right off.
There are 3 penny, 1 nickel, 2 dimes, 1 quarter and 1 half dollar stacks on the top. All the keys work and give  the correct change they should when depressed. This machine was definitely heavily used and has it's flaws, but makes a nice display piece and works fine.
